A design project using research findings to develop a customizable programming framework for creating residential home environments to enhance autonomy, independence and interactions of adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
As with many cutting edge development, the main challenge is the execution of such a specialized space. Budgetary concerns persist along with balancing functionality and other cogent programmatic needs against the needs of the ASD special population.
The scope of work included design research, material research, strategy, programmatic customization, schematic design and design development.
